Dō Hwa – Korean Home Cooking

Posted by - October 19, 2017
I have always felt welcome at Dō Hwa it has that warm feeling inside and dim lighting. I have also watched Dō Hwa grow and get more popular since 2007. If you want a cool NYC place to go eat with really amazing food and where cool things just "happen" - go for Dō Hwa.

The NotABomb Review Rubric

Posted by - March 15, 2017
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good..." - J.K. Rowling Recently, a product vendor was wondering how their product got a particular rating, not higher. I tried to explain that to this blog, a rating of 3 is a really high rating, since it means that the product itself was "very good" on all three major counts. On most sites, 5 is "good" and 1 or 0 is "bad" and that's sorta it. I have always wanted the notabomb ratings to mean a little something more than just good and bad products.

Amir Makes a Ramadan Candle! (Velleman Flickering Candle MK167)

Posted by - February 25, 2017
Welcome Amir to the website!! He has been a friend of mine for a long time. I can't really remember how we became friends, but my dad says that we met through the glass window of an apartment building. This was a good first kit for amir, why? a maker badge would be too simple for him and a sound to light meter would be too complicated for anybody for their first kit. so I gave him the Vellman cancel kit. He's always been really smart and really good at computers and legos and video games and tech so I figured he'd be really good at soldering and electronics.

Jonah makes: Evil Mad Scientist Flickery Flame Soldering Kit

Posted by - February 12, 2017
Jonah came over to my house recently and i had him solder the Evil Mad Scientist Flickery Flame LED kit that Lenore had sent me and the kit worked. Jonah finished it in one sitting, just over one hour. This kit was not just your average maker badge kit. It was more complex and it had multiple settings. Like most evil mad scientist soldering pads these were amazing quality.

IC Station Dgf-01 Sound-Control Level Led Indicator Suite Review

Posted by - January 29, 2017
I have always liked sound to light meter kits since the first one i made. My very second kit was the Vellman vu meter. Ever since then sound to light meters have had a place in my heart. I think you can tell that though because of the amount of sound to light kits i do. This kit is simple and cool and it feels satisfying when you finish it. I would suggest this product to educators who teach an engineering class. I would suggest this because it is simple, like i said and it has very little instructions so the students will need you for help.

Velleman MK146 VU Meter Mini Kit

Posted by - December 29, 2016
I would suggest this product to someone who needs to me sure sound in an uncontrolled environment. or a person who needs practice soldering at a slightly higher level. This is now one of my favorite kits because of the fact that is can be used as just a soldering kit and it has a practical use... BECAUSE OF THE SWITCH. The switch finally makes it usable in real-life.

Velleman MK172 Sound Star

Posted by - December 29, 2016
This is a very festive, very fun, kind of complicated kit. It took me 3 tries to get it totally right the video for this article/ still is not the most recent one hence two lights not working. It is very fun to use and show off to other people. It looks both holiday-ish and maker-y.
